About Us

snafu brewing

Snafu Brewing Company located at 3280 Industry Drive, is an independent craft brewery and taproom in North Charleston, South Carolina, specializing in fruit-forward sour beers, smoothie sours, and creative, flavor-driven craft beer. Founded and led by brewer Scott Koon, Snafu is known for bold, approachable beers designed to appeal to longtime craft beer fans and people who don’t typically consider themselves beer drinkers.

Our beers put a playful spin on craft brewing, combining bold fruit flavors with inspiration from Italian ice, candy, desserts, and nostalgic treats. While fruit-forward sour beers are our specialty, our taproom also offers a rotating lineup of more traditional beer styles alongside frequent new releases, so there’s always something new to try.

Snafu Brewing Company has earned both national and local recognition for its sour beers, including back-to-back Gold Medals in the Smoothie Sour category at the Best of Craft Beer Awards and Best Sour/Gose in the Best of Charleston awards. Snafu is also home to the three highest-rated sours in South Carolina on Untappd.

Located in the Charleston area, our North Charleston brewery and taproom offers a casual, laid-back warehouse atmosphere with couches, Nintendo 64 and Wii, ping pong, pool, games, and plenty of space to hang out with friends. We regularly feature new beer releases and events, making the taproom a fun destination for both Charleston locals and visitors looking to explore South Carolina craft beer.

Whether you’re looking for great craft beer in Charleston or just something a little different, Snafu Brewing Company makes beer that’s bold, flavorful, approachable, and always a little unexpected.
